VibratechTVD introduces our new viscous damper, part number 1341604, for Caterpillar C10, C12 and C13 engines to benefit medium and heavy-duty truck owners. Made 100% in the U.S.A., Vibratech TVD heavy duty dampers achieve industry leading 500,000 miles of superior protection against torsional vibration crankshaft damage.
Service centers specializing in Caterpillar diesel engines and owner-operators should install a new Vibratech TVD damper at the current Caterpillar C10, C12 and C13 recommended 300,000 mile Crankshaft Vibration Damper service interval* or whenever a major engine overhaul or in-frame rebuild is performed. The damper is available in a raw steel finish coated with rust preventative suitable for paint application.
Vibratech TVD (formerly Houdaille) invented the original viscous fluid type damper in 1946 and has been supporting the trucking industry for over 65 years. “We are proud to continue our heritage,” states Karl Horschel, President of Vibratech TVD. “Now medium and heavy-duty truck owners with CAT C10, C12 and C13 engines can experience the same benefits by replacing their old stock damper with a Vibratech TVD damper utilizing the same high quality engineering standards that CAT 3406, C15, C16 owners and operators have come to depend on.”
Designed and manufactured 100% in the U.S.A. since 1946, Vibratech TVD torsional viscous dampers feature a rotating inertia ring that shears through silicone within a precision balanced, laser sealed housing. As a result of Vibratech TVD’s engineering, plus incorporating ISO9001:2008 manufacturing and quality controls, our dampers are constructed to achieve 500,000 miles of long lasting superior protection by helping to control damaging torsional vibration that can, and often does, end up as catastrophic engine failure. Vibratech TVD torsional viscous dampers also help to provide extended crankshaft bearing and valve train life, increase torque and horsepower, and achieve greater fuel economy.
